About Us

Where We Began

Our History

The CCRDFV operated informally in the Gladstone area for some years where service providers looked to each other for a collaborative approach to respond to DFV. Then in 1996 our local service providers identified the need to formalise this approach and the Gladstone Domestic Violence Network was formed. The service area for the Gladstone Domestic Violence Network was defined as the Gladstone Region to be in line with Council boundaries. The Gladstone Domestic Violence Network existed to be a collaborative response to identify local issues and needs around DFV and organise annual events such as Domestic Violence Awareness Month of May.

Our Guiding Principles

Our BELIEFS

The CCRDFV is dedicated to providing a coordinated response to those affected by domestic and family violence and to promoting an abuse-free community through: community education;

  • holding events to raise awareness of domestic and family violence in the community;
  • the development of partnerships between support agencies who can assist thos affected by DFV and promoting those services; and
  • direct support for domestic and family violence victims and their families.
